Postcard 1900 Paris Rue Soufflot Pantheon France Pre-Linen Mailed Austria

Paris, France1900Pre-linenGood

Strolling into the Belle Époque — this evocative 1900 Parisian street scene captures the broad sweep of Rue Soufflot framed by Haussmann-era limestone façades, with the neoclassical dome of the Panthéon rising majestically at the vanishing point. Elegantly dressed Parisians in long skirts and feathered hats promenade along the central garden median while a uniformed officer strides purposefully across the foreground — a snapshot of daily life frozen just after the turn of the century. Published by Editions E. Le Deley, one of the most prolific early French postcard houses, the card was mailed from Paris in December 1900 (postmark reads "PARIS 5 DEC 00") to a Michaele in St. Pölten, Lower Austria, via a 10-centime French Type Sage stamp. The undivided back bears the classic "Ce côté est exclusivement réservé à l'adresse" rule, confirming its Pioneer/early UB era. A charming transalpine correspondence piece with strong topographical and philatelic appeal.
