Antique & Vintage Postcards

Trams glide through a sunlit Linz on this crisp mid-century real-photo postcard showing the Hauptplatz (Main Square) of Upper Austria's capital in its postwar commercial vigor — the baroque twin-towered Old Cathedral dominates the left skyline, the ornate Trinity Column (Dreifaltigkeitssäule) commands the cobbled square's center, and period automobiles and pedestrians animate the broad Haussmann-scaled streetscape. Mailed on 20 January 1960 from Linz with an Austrian Republic 30-groschen stamp, this divided-back card was sent to the "Geschwister Römisch" (the Römisch siblings) at Ruckergasse 8, Vienna XV — a familial postcard greeting in neat German cursive. Published by Tiroler Kunstverlag, Innsbruck (Straße der Sudetendeutschen 21), catalogue number 11316. A fine slice of early Cold War-era Austrian urban life with strong local and topographical collector appeal.
