White border era postcard captioned "Capt. Young's Home, Million Dollar Pier, Atlantic City, N.J." Blue-toned photographic view of the ornate Italianate mansion built by Captain John Lake Young on his famous Million Dollar Pier, opened 1906. The three-story building features a domed clock tower, dormer windows, classical columns, and is flanked by sculptural figures and decorative lamp standards along the pier boardwalk. Printed in blue duotone. Postmark: Atlantic City, N.J. — Chelsea Sta. — Aug. 11, 12-M, 1911. Message reads: "We are having a nice time, got here at 5 P.M. went through the Million Dollar Pier last night. Hope you are feeling alright. Lovingly, Ida." Addressed to Miss Alice Beal, Prolesvill[e?], [West?] Surrey County, England.
