Antique & Vintage Postcards

The city of Florence unfurls beneath a dramatic clouded sky, the terracotta dome of Brunelleschi's cathedral anchoring the horizon as the Palazzo Vecchio's tower pierces the cloud line to the right — all seen from the terraced heights of the Boboli Gardens, where the Fontana di Leda col Cigno rises in the foreground, its basin catching the diffuse Tuscan light. This is a vera fotografia — a genuine silver-gelatin photographic postcard printed in Torino by Fotocere — published by Casa Editrice P. Giusti & Figli of Florence in 1933, Anno XII of the Fascist era (the "XII" fasces-year dating visible on the reverse is a notable historical marker). The sepia-warm photograph captures an unusually atmospheric, almost painterly panorama of the city. Unused and in excellent condition, with a slight natural curve to the card stock characteristic of period real-photo printing.
