Postcard of Wroclaw (formerly Breslau), Poland, depicting the twin-towered Gothic Cathedral of St. John the Baptist on Cathedral Island (Ostrow Tumski), with the Odra River and city rooftops visible in the background. The cathedral, heavily damaged in WWII and reconstructed with new spires completed in 1951, is shown in its rebuilt form. Caption on back (Polish): 'Wroclaw — Widok ogolny z katedra' ('Wroclaw — General view with the cathedral'). Photograph by E. Falkowski. Published by Biuro Wydawnicze 'Ruch', Warsaw. Series 36-195, print run (nakl.) 6993. Executed by P.T.T.K. Zakl. Wytw. Fotowidokówek Wroclaw. Price: 1.40 zl. Dated 29 December 1958. Unposted. A fine example of Polish communist-era (PRL) topographical postcard production documenting Wroclaw's postwar reconstruction.
