Postcard 1960s Chrome Tijuana Mexico US International Border Crossing Caliente

Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico1960ChromeExcellent

Dozens of gleaming 1950s American automobiles queue at the busy San Ysidro–Tijuana international crossing in this vivid chrome-era view, with the distinctive rounded-glass Caliente Foreign Book building commanding the right foreground and the chaparral-covered hills of Baja rolling away behind the port of entry — a time capsule of the border as it looked when Tijuana billed itself as "the most visited city in the world." The back text makes that claim explicitly, noting that thousands of cars passed daily entering the US through Tijuana, B.C. The card is catalog number FR-3, unused and very clean. Chrome color printing is bright and unfaded. The Caliente building and the period auto styles (mid-to-late 1950s) suggest a production date of circa 1958–1963. A faint ink stamp impression appears in the stamp box but no stamp is affixed — likely a dealer or collector mark.
