Postcard 1930s Warsaw Poland General View RPPC Voigtlander Panorama

Warsaw, Poland1935RPPCGood

A sweeping bird's-eye panorama over interwar Warsaw catches the city at its modernist apex — the bold vertical slab of what appears to be the Prudential Building (completed 1934) thrusts above a sea of ornate 19th-century tenements, church spires, and leafy courtyards, the whole scene shot with a Voigtländer lens and printed as a gelatin silver real-photo card. This is Warsaw as it looked in the mid-1930s, confident and cosmopolitan, just years before it would be almost entirely erased. The reverse bears a curious collector notation: "Tschechoslowakei" crossed out in blue crayon and corrected to "Polen" in pen — evidence of a systematic geographical filing effort, perhaps by a Central European dealer or collector organising an album between the wars.
