Postcard c1905 Paris Bridges Seine Leporello Fold-Out Raphael Tuck Mailed

Paris, France1905Pre-linenFair-Good

A rare accordion-fold leporello souvenir booklet mailed from Paris to Rochester, New York by a sender named J.J. Crawford residing at 21 Rue de la Hague, France — this charming early-1900s curio unfurls to reveal six panoramic photographic views of the River Seine and her celebrated bridges: the Pont Alexandre III, Pont de l'Alma, Pont-Neuf avec les écluses, Passerelle de Passy, and more. The cover image of Pont Alexandre III—its four gilded Fame sculptures gleaming even in monochrome—was at that time barely a decade old, inaugurated for the 1900 World's Fair. A period steam tramway labeled "La Mutuelle Line" can be spotted dockside in one panel, an extraordinary glimpse of early Parisian transit. The card was posted to John (last name withheld) in Rochester, NY, USA, bearing a French green stamp and postmark; the back is heavily worn with silvered adhesive residue suggesting it was once bound into an album. Published by the prestigious Raphael Tuck & Sons under their "Collection Lepo—" imprint, Série 608, this is a desirable crossover collectible for both Tuck specialists and Paris/Seine topography collectors.
