Edwardian visitors in summer dress pack the plaza before Dreamland's spectacular cave-mouth entrance arch in this 1905 postcard — one of Coney Island's three great amusement parks, and the most architecturally ambitious of them, gone forever after a catastrophic fire destroyed the entire complex on May 27, 1911. "We are having a swell time," the sender wrote home that August.
