Hand-colored aerial view of the original Waldorf-Astoria Hotel at Fifth Avenue and 34th Street, New York City, showing the massive red-brick Flemish Renaissance complex with its distinctive copper-green domed turrets and elaborate roofline. Horse-drawn carriages line the streets below. This is the original Waldorf-Astoria — combining the Waldorf Hotel (1893) and Astoria Hotel (1897) — demolished in 1929 to make way for the Empire State Building.
