Antique & Vintage Postcards

Embossed postcard of three ripe peaches on a leafy branch, deeply raised in relief, the soft blush of the fruit rendered in warm peach and rose tones against a muted green foliage — a popular format in the golden age of the picture postcard, when embossed fruit and floral cards were sent by the millions as casual greetings. This one traveled from somewhere in South Dakota in June 1907, sent by a man named Harry to a woman named Lucy in Gettysburg, South Dakota, urging her to come spend the Fourth of July with him — he had just returned from Minnesota, was heading on to another town, and wanted her to make the trip. A summer's worth of plans packed into the back of a peach card.
