Antique & Vintage Postcards

A serene lakeside retreat captured in vivid linen-era color — the Lost Lake Woods Club House near Alpena, Michigan floats above a glassy shoreline where rowboats and a covered launch bob at a small dock, the rambling white two-story clubhouse framed by birch trees just beginning to turn gold. Lost Lake Woods Club was a private sporting and fishing club established in the early 20th century on Lost Lake in Montmorency County, drawing wealthy Detroit industrialists and professionals for hunting and fishing getaways in Michigan's northern lower peninsula; the property survives today as a private residential community. The card carries publisher code 5594-29, consistent with Curt Teich linen-era production circa 1929–1935, and was never mailed, preserving crisp, unfaded color throughout.
