Antique & Vintage Postcards

A stunning real-photo postcard (RPPC) captures the grand Mill Spring Colonnade — Mlýnská kolonáda — at Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad) thronged with hundreds of elegantly dressed visitors taking the waters on a busy summer day in the early Czechoslovak Republic era, the long neoclassical arcade with its arched bays and rooftop statuary stretching across the full width of the frame, backed by tree-cloaked hillsides and the grand hotel facades above. The sharp photographic detail reveals period fashions, parasols, and the dense social life of one of Europe's premier spa resorts between the wars. Unlike the colorized lithographic view of the same colonnade in PC-00976, this RPPC offers documentary verisimilitude — every face and hat is real. The reverse is unused and clean, titled simply "Karlovy Vary – Kolonáda," with catalog reference P 317 and card number 18. The absence of postage and address suggests a souvenir copy never sent.
