The Jardin Marengo, established on the heights above the Casbah, was a fashionable promenade for Algiers' European settler community; the elegant cast-iron lamppost and tiered fountain basin visible here were signature features of its rond-point. Figures in traditional North African dress mingle with European visitors at left, offering a quietly layered social tableau. The reverse bears the classic French undivided-back layout ("Carte Postale / Tous les pays étrangers…") with a publisher's Aqua-Photo stamp from Paris, dating this card to approximately 1900–1906.
