Sent in December 1953 — just months after Stalin's death and deep in Hungary's Stalinist Rákosi period — the card traveled from Budapest to Vienna, addressed to a physician (OLGkR. Dr. Ed. Bachofner) at Gregor Mendelstrasse, a poignant cross-Iron-Curtain correspondence.
