Antique & Vintage Postcards

Sunlight catches the buff brick and stone base of the Commerce Building in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota in this crisp white-border era card from the early 1920s — Model T Fords and touring cars dot the intersection below while pedestrians in period dress stroll the broad sidewalks, globe streetlamps glowing at the corners of what was then one of the tallest and most prestigious office addresses in the Twin Cities. Built in 1904 and rising twelve stories, the Commerce Building was home to insurance firms, brokers, and professional offices at the heart of St. Paul's commercial district. This example was never mailed, retaining its clean back with Bloom Bros. Co. Minneapolis publisher imprint intact.
