The Kohler store sign, a Splitzer tailor's advertisement, and horse-drawn wagons sharing the rails with the electric car layer the scene with period commercial detail. On the reverse, a brief, partially legible note (postmarked Cincinnati, Oct 13, 1908) was sent to Mrs. B. Carroll at 7 Windsor Pl. N.E., Cleveland, Ohio, expressing warm wishes and urging her to "keep your originality." The 1¢ Franklin green stamp is neatly canceled.
