Mailed from Waddington, N.Y. in July 1927 and addressed to Mrs. Will Stringer of Port Huron, Michigan, this warm-toned linen card carries a message from a traveler named Baker, who writes with cheerful weariness: "We had a fine trip — very fine grand place — we are at a cottage on the St. Lawrence River — we saw this beautiful place yesterday on our boat trip — will be glad when we are home again." The Hallam & Vesty imprint from Alexandria Bay is relatively scarce, and the C.T. American Art Colored printing gives the water a luminous aquamarine glow that makes the island look like a postcard paradise.
