Postcard Houses of Parliament London Big Ben c1905 Real Photo Sepia Unused

London, England1906Pre-linenGood

Horse-drawn omnibuses and early motor cars jostle along a busy Westminster street in this atmospheric sepia real-photo view of the Houses of Parliament with Big Ben dominant against a pale London sky — a street-level snapshot of the city in the last years of the Edwardian era, when the internal combustion engine and the horse still shared the capital's cobblestones in uneasy cohabitation. The image captures Parliament Square from the north, with the ornate Gothic Revival silhouette of Barry and Pugin's masterpiece stretching behind the clock tower, and a handsome Edwardian corner building (likely the Middlesex Guildhall precursor block) visible at left. The undivided or early divided blank back — printed simply "POST CARD / This space may be used for communication / The address only to be written here" — with no publisher imprint suggests a generic trade print, possibly a photographic wholesale card, dating to approximately 1903–1910. Unused, with clean cream stock, this is a fine period document of Edwardian London street life.
