Pre-linen era hand-colored photographic postcard of the Tyler Davidson Fountain (formally "The Genius of Water") in Fountain Square, Cincinnati, Ohio. The fountain — designed by August von Kreling, cast by Ferdinand von Miller, and dedicated in 1871 — is shown from street level, with the bronze female figure atop outstretched arms dominating the composition. Period storefronts and a clock tower are visible in the background. Published by the Detroit Photographic Co. (Detroit Publishing Co.), copyright 1904, catalog no. 8030 — from the same negative documented in the Library of Congress Detroit Publishing Collection. Posted Cincinnati, Ohio, February 6, 1908 (9 AM) to Miss Adelaide C. Carroll [Caroce?], #7 Euclid Windsor Terrace, Cleveland, Ohio. Franked with a US Scott #300 1¢ Franklin green stamp, Series of 1902, machine-cancelled with wavy lines. Message on image area reads: "Expect to be home tonight / H.C." Undivided back format ("This Side for the Address"). Shows significant corner wear, creasing, and surface soiling consistent with heavy postal use.
