Postcard c1940s Apeldoorn Netherlands Vupack Bus Novelty Leporello Souvenir

Apeldoorn, Netherlands1945LinenGood

Cheerfully illustrated with a stout touring bus painted in vivid red, yellow, and blue — luggage piled high on its roof rack, tiny passengers visible through its windows — this Dutch novelty souvenir card bears the legend Groeten uit ("Greetings from") and conceals inside its hinged flap a crisp leporello accordion strip of miniature black-and-white views of Apeldoorn, the gracious Gelderland city best known as the seat of the Dutch royal family at Paleis Het Loo. The accordion pull-out reveals scenes of waterways with moored boats, the elegant Prinsenpoort bridge with swans resting on the bank, tree-lined avenues, and the city's stately architecture — quiet, verdant images that capture Apeldoorn's unhurried character between the wars. The outer card itself is a Vupack-style novelty mailing piece; the interior label panel is printed simply Apeldoorn in clean serif type. Inventory pencil notation No. 653 appears on the reverse (inverted).
