Japan Tea Advertising Mt Fuji from Tagonoura Postcard c1905

Tagonoura (Taganoura), Shizuoka, Japan1907Undivided/Early Divided BackUnused
Color-tinted photographic advertising postcard promoting Japan Tea, showing Mount Fuji reflected in the calm waters of Tagonoura harbor (Taganoura, Shizuoka Prefecture) with traditional Japanese bezaibune (flat-bottomed sailing/cargo boats) moored at left and pine trees framing the shore. Caption: "Fuji from Tagonoura." Upper right corner carries the promotional legend "JAPAN TEA." A white label box in the lower center reads "With Compliments of" — left blank for individual tea importers or retailers to fill in their business name. The undivided back features a "Post ☆T☆ Card" logo. The style and back format indicate circa 1905–1910. Unposted; previous dealer notations in Japanese characters in right margin. A charming example of Meiji-era Japan Tea advertising ephemera distributed to promote Japanese tea exports to Western markets.
