Mexico Tourist Association Poster Postcard 1940s Offset Galas
Mexico1947Linen/Color LithoUsed
Striking color lithograph advertising postcard issued by the Asociación Mexicana de Turismo / Mexican Tourist Association, printed in Mexico by Offset Galas. The image depicts two Indigenous Mexican porters carrying heavy woven baskets suspended from shoulder poles, wearing white clothing and large straw sombreros, with the twin volcanic peaks of Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl visible in the background. Large bold "MEXICO" header in yellow on green band. Offset Galas produced tourism materials for the Mexican government in the 1940s–1950s; this style is consistent with the 1945–1950 period. Unused and unaddressed; a handwritten note in blue ink in the lower left reads "P.S. You have to see Mexico to believe it." with initials "WB." A pencil notation "650" appears in the stamp area (previous dealer price). Very clean unused condition.
