Glengarriff, County Cork, Ireland1905Golden AgeUnused
Color-tinted postcard of "The Tunnel, Glengarriff Co. Cork" — the famous natural rock tunnel on the road through the scenic Glengarriff valley in County Cork, Ireland. A man tends his horse and cart in the foreground beside a traditional whitewashed thatched stone cottage, with a woman standing at the doorway. The dark tunnel mouth cuts through the rocky hillside covered in green vegetation. Glengarriff was a popular Victorian and Edwardian tourist destination on Bantry Bay. Published by W. Lawrence, Publisher, Dublin — the most important Irish postcard publisher of the era — and printed in Germany. Unposted and unused.
