Antique & Vintage Postcards

A crisp, commanding view of Leominster's federal Post Office building anchors this vintage linen-era card — the symmetrical brick façade with its row of tall arched windows and American flag flying proud from the rooftop flagpole conjures the civic confidence of New Deal–era public architecture. The building, constructed in the 1930s in a restrained Neoclassical/Colonial Revival style typical of U.S. Treasury Department commissions of that period, served Worcester County's "Comb City" at the height of its plastics and manufacturing prosperity. A period automobile is just visible at lower left, grounding the scene in its era. The card was never mailed, retaining clean, bright surfaces throughout.
