Postcard c1905 Church Square Kingston Surrey England Unused Pre-Linen UK

Kingston upon Thames (probable), Surrey, England, UK1905Pre-linenGood

Horse-drawn carts cluster in a quiet English market square as the square Georgian tower of a venerable parish church rises above a row of Georgian townhouses in this crisp black-and-white halftone postcard, almost certainly depicting the Church of All Saints (or St. Mary's) in a Surrey market town — the architecture and street furniture are consistent with Kingston upon Thames or a comparable Home Counties town, circa 1905. The clock face on the tower, the iron railings, and a bandstand-like structure to the right are all characteristic of prosperous Edwardian civic life. This card was never posted — the back is entirely blank, with only the standard "stamp to be placed here" box and the divided-back format indicating a post-1902 but likely pre-1910 printing date. The publisher is unknown but the format and halftone printing style suggest a British local stationer or national jobber. A clean, attractive topographical survivor.
