Antique & Vintage Postcards

Victorian chromolithograph advertising trade card for Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk, printed by Vallet, Minot & Cie, Paris. The front depicts a plump, cheerful infant in a straw hat and baby walker, playing with an abacus-like toy, set against an olive-green background. The caption reads "Déja Général!" (Already a General!). An inset in the upper left shows the product tin with the Milk-Maid brand label. The reverse, printed in English, advertises the Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company of Cham, Switzerland, established 1866, with production statistics boasting 13,000 cows and 20 million 1-lb cans per year. The reverse has significant paper loss due to prior album mounting.
