Antique & Vintage Postcards

Victorian chromolithograph advertising trade card for Boschee's German Syrup and Green's August Flower patent medicines. The front depicts a scene at a riverside: an angry woman in a headscarf and blue dress scolds a half-dressed boy caught swimming in a river, while another child swims in the background. The header reads "4,000,000 bottles sold annually — German Syrup cures Consumption, and August Flower for Dyspepsia." Printed by Chas. Shields' Sons, 20 & 22 Gold St., N.Y. The reverse bears text advertising from local agent F. A. Colby, M.D., Lancaster, N.H., promoting August Flower, Boschee's German Syrup, and Ague Conqueror, with product descriptions and pricing. The back has significant surface paper loss from prior album mounting.
