Antique & Vintage Postcards

Victorian novelty card incorporating chromolithography and applied silk fabric. The front depicts a misty lakeside scene with white cherry blossoms on a branch, featuring a central embossed medallion on crimson silk — two small songbirds perched on a branch in relief, surrounded by a pearl-beaded border. The caption "Niagara, No. 1" is printed diagonally at lower right. The reverse reveals the card's construction: a square of crimson silk fabric is sewn through the card with matching thread, visible as the backing of the embossed bird medallion. The back has significant surface paper loss from prior album mounting or removal.
