Antique & Vintage Postcards

A gondolier rows past the dome of Santa Maria della Salute toward the distant towers of San Marco in this softly atmospheric German chromolithograph postcard — part of a 12-card artist series of Venice views published in Leipzig for the turn-of-the-century souvenir trade. The undivided back dates the card to before 1905, making it an early example of the golden age of continental art postcards.
