Published under Fascist-era Ministry of Popular Culture authorization (stamp dated 22 August 1942, Anno XXI of the Fascist calendar), this unused card was printed by the prestigious Alterocca house of Terni, one of Italy's finest postcard printers, whose wartime output is increasingly sought by collectors of Fascist-era ephemera and Italian topographical cards alike. The deckle-edged border and rich halftone gravure reproduction give the card a tactile quality rare in this period, and the absence of any message or postage preserves it in mint, archivally pristine condition.
