On the back, a traveler named Mom (with "Pop") dashes off an irresistible note dated Vienna, January 8, 1973: "Being a musician you think of Vienna and the Blue Danube waltz by Strauss… the weather was overcast in Switzerland so we decided to take a train trip to Vienna thru the Tyrolean Alps. It was beyond description, like a picture book. Cousin Robert was our tour master and served us well." Mailed via Flugpost air mail to Mr. & Mrs. C.W. in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, the card carries an Austrian 4-Schilling definitive stamp.
