Postcard Reservoir Water Tower Lawrence Massachusetts Linen c1920s Unused

Lawrence, Massachusetts, USA1922LinenExcellent

Bathed in the warm peach glow of a New England sunset, Lawrence's striking red-brick Victorian water tower rises above the reservoir embankment like a Romanesque campanile — its green-capped turret and arched belfry windows a testament to the era when civic infrastructure was built to inspire as much as to function. Lawrence, Massachusetts, was the "Queen City of the Merrimack Valley," a powerhouse of the American textile industry, and its water system served the enormous mill workforce that made the city famous. The C.T. American Art Colored process delivers gentle pastel tones — cerulean water, salmon sky, lush green embankment — that give the scene a quiet, almost nostalgic dignity. This card is unused, with no message or address, and retains its original brightness remarkably well.
