Azul — a prosperous ranching city on the pampas, some 300 km south of the capital — invested heavily in civic beautification at the turn of the century, and this municipal park was a point of local pride. Published by La Sudamericana (Garay 1901, Buenos Aires), one of Argentina's earliest and most prolific postcard houses, this card is a rare survivor from a country whose early postcard production is significantly underrepresented in international collections.
