Postcard Linen The Krebs Restaurant Skaneateles NY 1940s Finger Lakes

Skaneateles, New York, USA1945LinenExcellent

A wide wraparound porch draped in striped awnings and flanked by blazing autumn shrubs — this handsome linen postcard captures The Krebs, the legendary family-style restaurant in Skaneateles, New York, that fed hungry Finger Lakes travelers for over a century beginning in 1899. The Krebs was famous for its all-you-can-eat country dinners served at long communal tables, drawing celebrities and road-trippers alike through the mid-20th century. Published by Wm. Jubb Co. of Syracuse, a regional publisher whose cards documented central New York with particular care, this unused example shows crisp linen texture and well-saturated color typical of quality 1940s production. The reverse carries a dealer pencil notation of "3/-" and is otherwise blank — a clean specimen for Skaneateles or Finger Lakes topographical collectors.
