Antique & Vintage Postcards

Rushing glacial-green water fills the foreground of this moody real-photo postcard of Bad Aussee, the beloved Styrian spa town deep in the Salzkammergut — a Gothic church steeple pierces the Alpine backdrop while the Grundlsee-fed Grundlseeache churns below historic stone embankments. The card was sent to the Rodler family in Vienna's 17th district (Hernals), the writer describing an idyllic holiday stay and mentioning plans to return. Photographed by Gottschmann of Bad Aussee and Altaussee, this RPPC captures the town's timeless character in crisp silver-gelatin detail during the interwar Austrian Republic era.
