Postcard 1924 Wiesberg Castle Railway Viaduct Ötztal Tyrol Austria RPPC

Wiesberg, Ötztal, Tyrol, Austria1924RPPCGood

Castle Wiesberg rises from a forested promontory above the rushing Inn tributary in the Ötztal, its medieval tower and stone walls framed against glaciated peaks — while below, an elegant steel railway viaduct arches across the gorge in a triumph of early 20th-century engineering. This crisp real-photo postcard captures the dramatic coexistence of medieval heritage and modern infrastructure that defined interwar Tyrol. The reverse carries a dense purple-ink message in German Kurrent script dated 8.9.24, postmarked Innsbruck 2, and bearing an Austrian yellow definitive stamp. Addressed to "Fräulein Marianne Martinek, Wien E.H.b.H., Wien I, Nibelungengasse 12," it appears to be from the same Martinek family circle as PC-02879, suggesting a connected collection.
