Antique & Vintage Postcards

Silence and altitude: a sinuous mountain road clings to the limestone escarpment of Cerro del Chipinque above Monterrey, Nuevo León, the valley floor dissolving into luminous haze far below — all captured in the sharp silver-gelatin detail that only a real-photo postcard (RPPC) can deliver. Chipinque Mesa, now a protected ecological park, was accessible by this dramatic carretera as early as the 1920s and became a favoured excursion for Monterrey's growing middle class and visiting American businessmen. Numbered 125 in what appears to be a local Monterrey photographer's series, the card is unused and bears the embossed "Tarjeta Postal / Sello" stamp-box on a plain divided back, consistent with 1920s–1940s Mexican RPPC production. The pencilled dealer price "100¢" appears top right.
