The grand Beaux-Arts building with its Ionic colonnade, broad entrance staircase, and large granite dome dominates the composition. A fountain is visible at the base of the steps and Alma Mater sculpture is just discernible at the entrance. At left, the tower of Riverside Church rises above the treeline. The publisher notes the library was designed by McKim, Mead & White and opened in 1897.
