Flags flying from every roofline and a boardwalk crowd in Edwardian dress, this vivid color-printed view of Young's Million Dollar Pier — seen from the south — captures Atlantic City at the height of its early twentieth-century golden age. The massive entertainment complex, which opened in 1906 and stretched more than two thousand feet into the Atlantic, dominates the frame with its grand arcaded façade, the bold signage "Young's Million Dollar Pier" spanning its face, while bathing apparatus and beachgoers fill the sandy foreground. Produced by the Chilton Printing Co. of Philadelphia (card no. 32), the card was postmarked in Atlantic City on 7 March 1910 at 10:30 AM and sent to a Miss Nellie Gorman at Overlook Road, Euclid Heights, Cleveland, Ohio. The brief message, signed "Bella," reads simply "we are having a beautiful time" — the classic carefree seaside dispatch from a century past.
