Postcard c1905 Lake Mayflower Grove Bryantville Mass UDB Unused Lewis Turner

Bryantville, Massachusetts, USA1905Pre-linenGood

Dappled light filters through towering pines to a lakeside pavilion at Mayflower Grove, Bryantville, Massachusetts — a beloved summer resort in Plymouth County captured here in a rare early undivided-back card published by local firm Lewis & Turner, circa 1905. The decorative Art Nouveau frame around the halftone vignette features scrolling foliage and shield cartouches labeled "Bryantville" and "Mass," giving this card an especially handsome presentation typical of the private mailing card era. Mayflower Grove was a popular picnic and recreation ground for working families traveling by trolley from Brockton and surrounding towns; scenes like this one were meant to entice day-trippers and are now scarce. This example is unused and unaddressed, preserving it in clean condition, with the back showing the elegant Lewis & Turner POST-CARD imprint noting domestic postage 1¢ / foreign 2¢ — the pre-1907 rate structure confirming its early date.
