Antique & Vintage Postcards

Step inside the future — this vibrant chrome-era postcard showcases the Coca-Cola Pavilion at the 1964–1965 New York World's Fair, its dramatic arched entrance and 120-foot tower emblazoned with the iconic red script logo, crowds of fair-goers in period dress streaming beneath a brilliant blue sky. The Unisphere logo appears in the upper left corner, and the reverse text notes the building housed five of "the most spectacular places in the world" and the world's largest electronic carillon with 610 bells. Sent to Mr. and Mrs. John McHugh at R.R. #1, Fillmore, Indiana, the card carries a warm message from Mom and Dad recounting their trip to New York — they "went to N.Y. Friday, came home Monday noon," saw the fair, had dinner, and stayed with friends, noting "it was so good not to have to hurry home." A lovely mid-century time capsule of the World's Fair experience.
