Postcard 1964 Null Bazar Bombay India Crowded Market Chrome Airmail Czech

Bombay (Mumbai), India1964ChromeGood

A teeming river of humanity floods the Null Bazar district of Bombay in this vivid chrome-era color postcard from 1964 — one of the city's oldest and most chaotic markets, where densely packed stalls, colonial-era buildings with sagging wooden balconies, and a small Hindu temple spire crowd the frame under a blazing sky, the scene alive with hundreds of figures in white kurtas, saris, and turbans. The card was sent by airmail from Bombay on July 7, 1964, by a writer who composed their message in Czech — "Srdečný pozdrav z Bombay. Tato je stará čísť města a trh" ("Warm greetings from Bombay. This is the old part of the city and its market") — to a recipient in Miami, Florida, making this a genuinely rare trilingual artifact: Indian-published card, Czech message, American address. Two Indian Map definitives — 20 NP and 25 NP — frank the card, both tied by the Bombay GPO cancel.
