Antique & Vintage Postcards

A weathered wooden covered bridge crouches low over a quiet Vermont stream on Route 4 between Bridgewater and Woodstock, its dark brown boards glowing warmly against a blaze of autumn foliage — birch, maple, and oak blazing orange and gold in the crisp New England air. Photographed by Frank L. Forward and published by Koppel Color Cards of Hawthorne, New Jersey, this chrome-era card captures the rustic covered bridge aesthetic that made Vermont one of the most photographed states in mid-century America. Forward's Color Productions of Manchester, Vermont (05254) printed the color work, lending authentic local provenance to this scenic view. Card number Vt131 in the Forward Vermont series. A handwritten pencil notation ("1-52" or similar) appears on the message side, possibly a dealer price or inventory note. Unposted and unused save for that notation, the card presents in very good condition.
