Antique & Vintage Postcards

Striking black-and-white real-photograph postcard of the Casino de Monte-Carlo illuminated at night, taken from the formal gardens in front of the building. The Belle Époque facade — designed by Charles Garnier and completed in 1878 — is brilliantly floodlit against the dark sky, its ornate roofline sculpture and twin cupolas sharply detailed. Manicured flower beds and a lone palm tree are silhouetted in the foreground. The serrated (deckled) edge treatment of this large-format card is characteristic of the era. Photographer credit "Rella" visible lower right.
