Postcard 1952 RPPC Regatta Hotel Blackpool Bispham Promenade England Mailed

Blackpool, Lancashire, England1952RPPCGood

Blackpool in July 1952 — the quintessential British seaside holiday is in full swing, and Susie and Alex are having "a lovely nice time" with Florie, Abe, and Rene at the Regatta Private Hotel on Bispham Promenade. This real-photo multiview postcard is a wonderful artifact of postwar British holiday culture, featuring a central Art Deco-style image of the Regatta Hotel facade (Phone: 512121) surrounded by four photographic vignettes: the iconic Blackpool Tower and seafront, the open-air swimming baths, an old stone church likely in Bispham village, and the promenade cliffs and beach crowded with holidaymakers. Published by H.E. Howarth Ltd. of Fleetwood, this RPPC captures the hotel's own promotional composite — a common format for British seaside guesthouses of the era. Mailed July 30, 1952, from Blackpool, Lancashire, to Mrs. J. in Salford, Manchester, with a 2½d George VI stamp.
