From the sun-drenched heart of Florida's winter season, this chrome-era Walt Disney World postcard — mailed from Lake Wales on January 12, 1984 — carries a wonderfully warm personal message to "Les" from what reads like a proud snowbird: "Weather in low 70s, going down in 50s tonight, keep that stuff up there, hope you have recovered from Heart Trouble." Cinderella Castle blazes against a deep blue Florida sky, snapdragons in red and gold nodding at the moat's edge, the whole image radiating the Fantasyland magic that made Walt Disney World "The Vacation Kingdom of the World" since its 1971 opening. The card was addressed to Ed at 1609 E London, Peoria, IL 61604 and bears a charming 13¢ USA "Puppy and Kitten" stamp (Scott #1786), a beloved American commemorative.
