A Prosperous New Year Postcard Embossed Horseshoe Clover A Jaeger c1907

New York, USA / Printed in Germany1907Pre-linenExcellent

Good luck radiates from every inch of this heavily embossed Edwardian New Year card — a silver horseshoe nearly bursts with clusters of pink clover blossoms, while a sweeping white ribbon banner proclaims "A Prosperous New Year" in elegant script against a gradient sky of teal and warm gold. Published under copyright by A. Jaeger and printed as part of the "Good Luck New Year Series No. 1," the back instructs senders that domestic postage was one cent and foreign two cents, firmly dating this card to the undivided-to-early-divided-back era (c.1906–1908). The deeply sculpted embossing and pearlescent finish on the horseshoe are exceptionally well preserved, making this a standout example of the genre.
