Embossed comic postcard from Raphael Tuck and Sons' "Smiles" Series No. 169, illustrated by Clare Victor Dwiggins (signed "Dwig"). The image shows a grinning cat-faced hobo-clown figure in patched clothing and an outrageous layered hat decorated with cherries and grapes, extending a coin on a plate. The text reads: "Smile at a dime and it will look like a Dollar!" Printed in Saxony, "By Appointment" to their Majesties the King and Queen.
