Postcard Chrome Cathedral Panoramic View Guadalajara Jalisco Mexico c1960s

Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico1965ChromeGood

Twin gold-leafed spires pierce a brilliant blue Jalisco sky above the grand Cathedral of Guadalajara in this sweeping aerial chrome postcard — the broad Plaza de Armas stretches before it in a riot of red flamboyán trees in full bloom, dancing fountains, mid-century buses, and strolling families who could never have imagined how dramatically this plaza would be remodeled in decades to come. This panoramic view captures Guadalajara at a particularly vibrant moment in its 20th-century urban life, with the cathedral's neoclassical and baroque hybrid towers dominating the skyline amid a city clearly in full economic bloom. Published by Delfino Oliva of San Luis Potosí under the Potocolor printing process, catalog number DO-215. The back confirms "Impreso en México." A price of 25 centavos is penciled in the upper right corner, consistent with 1960s Mexican postcard retail pricing. Unused and unposted.
